My name is Hannah Wilcox! I am a freelance textile designer, who enjoys making repeat patterns. I graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London in 2018 where I specialised my practice in print design. I am happiest when I'm painting sheets of colour, I love to collage and interact with bold shapes! My work aims to be bright, fun, interactive and hopefully appeal to all.
My main influences would be Henri Matisse or Fredun Shapur, their focus on colour & shape inspires me to create more. I am constantly taking photos and making scrapbooks, I find this is the best part of the design process! My advice is always keep your eyes peeled you never know what you might find!
Since graduating I have worked on numerous freelance projects both in fashion & interiors, including British retail companies such as Boden & Hallmark. Most recently I lived abroad in Sweden working as a textile design intern for IKEA of Sweden. I am now currently living in Dublin, Ireland, where I am enjoying new creative challenges & projects.

Shape & Colour Time!
To Get Started You Will Need…
Any Paper or you can download & print the shapes we have provided!
Colouring Pencils, Pens, Paint, Crayons.. Anything you like to use when you colour in!
Scissors, Glue Stick, or tape, Needle & Thread
1. Colour in the shapes, or you can draw your own. Make them bold and beautiful! Don’t worry if you go outside the lines.
2. Next grab your scissors! Carefully start to cut out the shapes. Ask your parents to help you as scissors are sharp! Ouch!
3. Play around with the colourful shapes... you can arrange and make different pictures!
4. Use glue or tape to stick them down on paper if you wish to make your picture last forever.... Or.... you can try Step four! Let’s make colourful bunting!
5. Take a needle and put thread through the hole. You can make your thread as long as you like just remember to make a knot at the bottom. Next begin with a cut out shape, pierce twice through the paper and proceed to slide them down the string. Repeat this process ….Put as many as you like..
6. When you are happy with your bunting, cut off the needle and tie a knot at the top. Now you have a stream of bright shapes, feel free to stick, drape, hang it wherever you like! Decorate a room, window, or wall with happy colours!
This will make any space fun and cheerful! Brighten someone’s day and get creating!! J Mine is hanging on my door… where will yours be?
