Day 027: 2D to 3D
Let’s start warming up with the funky topic, spatiality. Today we shall do a small miniature space or isn’t it almost like a sculpture? We are figuring out how we can create a three dimensional object from a two dimensional surface. Maybe as an inspiration you can check out Alexander Calder’s art works. He was an American sculptor who worked with big three dimensional sculptures. He was very well known of his mobiles. Let’s get started.
1. If you happen to have colourful papers, you can make a short cut as we did. If not, it is not a problem you can also use some stiffer paper and paint it from both sides as you wish! We took the short cut so we shall jump into the second step straight away.
2. Let’s decorate the paper from both sides. How about some dots, squares, stripes or maybe even a bit more organic patterns?
3. Then we shall fold the paper in two. We have provided some templates for your inspiration to figure out some possible arch patterns. Let’s find the scissors and do the work!
4. Now you need to fold the “legs” so that the thing can be freestanding! Good luck!
5. I think we are getting ready.
6. How your mini sculptures look like? Are they like a little forest or a fairy tale land? We are more than happy if you can share it with us #bobolafi
Have a great spacy start for the week!
Step by step. Work flow.

What is the scale of these? Could it be a tiny one or a huge sculpture in the middle of the city?
Dear followers we want to remind you that parents assume all responsibility for the safety of their children in these activities.
